The use of Foreign Experts in 1980 Hague Convention Cases
In a 1980 Hague Convention case the role of a formal expert from where the child was abducted from can often be essential. The parent asking the court for a return order, must proof that (s)he has parental rights, according to the law of the country in which the child is habitually resident, not the law of the country where the child has been abducted to.
